Kurt schwitter is a poet painter and mixed media artist, he is well known for creating collages, he is also known for his composition and his innovated mixed media work. I chose his because on one of my vinyls i want to make a collage of all my favourite musicians and the way he lays out his collages are how i want to do mine with the solid squares and layers. i like how he makes his collarges by scatering the pictures but staying to a colour scheme and he is the artists that matches my theme the best with the way he does his work. i also like the splashes of paint to make shaddows wich he adds to his work wich i thought about adding to mine however i just decided not to.

here is my main vinyl for my centre piece, for this vinyl i wanted to add my identity to it so i made crystals out of plaster, my main idea was to make them out of clay however i wanted to create sharp edges and be able to file it down but keep that roughness of a natural crystal. i then coated them in pva glue to stop the plastic from soaking up the paint. when gluing them on i struggled to keep them on with a glue gun do i had to put them on with super glue. i painted a waning gibbous moon because that's the moon that was in the sky when i was born, and then i painted mercury because my star sign is Gemini and mercury is the ruling house of Gemini, i also painted the Gemini constellation and Capricorn which is my sun sign. for the middle i covered the original centre and re painted it with the arctic monkeys album cover because I'm going to there concert on the 2nd June.  for the rest of my vinyl's i collaged pictures of songs i like from all genre  to show that...

Lauren swan

Lauren swan paints on bohemian musical instruments with bright colours.  I chose her as a artist because I am painting on vinyls and she paints on musical instruments so are work relates and she also is a big fan of music that's why she paints on musical instruments. so far she has painted ukuleles, tambourines, guitars and drums. her painting are a representation that you can put two comely different things together and create something.  -"music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything"  I also chose her because of the bright colours she choses to use in her work, they are eye catching and I am planning to use bright colours in some of the sections of my work to. each of her works are individual and different, like each of her works have its own identity.  I am making three different vinyls and ther...

Identity

I chose the theme of identity because the age range that the project is supposed to be aimed at is 15-21 and I think that these are the ages that you find your identity and find the things you like and what makes you, you. I also think and you can take the theme of identity down different routes such as fashion choices, personality and culture. I have chosen to base mine on music and how people find there identity through music because I listen to music all the time and I think it’s a very big thing in society as it’s always changing like peoples identity as they grow older.  You can listen to any kind of music and I think the music u listen to reflects maybe your fashion choices and who you are as a person.
